My Poetry

First Love

I remember the summer
from the eleventh floor balcony:
Hot air was full of pre-exam terror
And a reluctant relief, right after.
As I was standing there,
Reminiscing about summers just like it,
Fearing the heat would never end,
I saw you -- walking peacefully and alone.
Instantly, I froze to watch
Your bear-like, unsuspecting presence,
Urging with motionless silence
to stop you indefinitely...
You were becoming smaller and smaller,
Until I could not tell if it was you anymore.

I have been detained in endless lines
of poetic confessions
With you -- walking away from me forever.
